Professor Stephen Gray joined Frontier Economics as a Director in 2014.
Stephen advises on issues relating to valuation, cost of capital, corporate financial strategy, and pricing issues. Much of his work involves developing frameworks for analysing complex business problems, and on quantifying outcomes. His role often involves writing reports to convey complex arguments and analysis in a way that is accessible to corporate managers, regulators, and legal professionals. He has appeared as an expert on valuation and pricing issues in various court proceedings.
His work on empirical finance, asset-pricing and corporate finance has been published in leading academic and practitioner journals. Much of this work has led to, or arisen from, consulting projects.
At UQ Business School, Stephen teaches a range of award and executive education courses in financial management, asset valuation, and corporate finance.
He has Honours degrees in Commerce and Law from The University of Queensland and a PhD in Financial Economics from Stanford University. He has received a number of academic awards including the Prime Minister’s Award for University Teacher of the Year in the Economics and Business field in 2002. Stephen is currently the Chairman of Frontier Economics Pty Ltd.
